Two announced routes

Contribution or government bond

Both routes lead to the same procedure. They differ in the legal nature of the money: one is a non-refundable contribution and the other is capital invested in a bond whose terms are not yet known.

USD 350,000 · Non-refundable contribution

A direct contribution to Argentina’s National Treasury.

  • USD 350,000 for the main applicant.
  • Announced as non-refundable: it is not an investment that can be sold or recovered.
  • Family members add the announced amounts for their category.
  • Paid only through the formal financial system and the official channel, once published.

USD 800,000 · Government bond

Subscription of a public bond created specifically for the programme.

  • USD 800,000 for the main applicant.
  • It is capital invested in a bond, not a fee. Not every Argentine bond qualifies.
  • Maturity, interest, transferability, custody and redemption terms have not been published.
  • Press reports describe a zero-interest instrument; this is not yet confirmed in a published issue.

How we work

From the first assessment to the decision

A structured procedure with a lawyer responsible for the file at every stage.

  1. Preliminary assessment

We review nationality, residence, family composition, background and the dual-nationality rules of your current country before you commit any funds.

  2. Engagement and document plan

Written engagement, conflict check and a checklist adapted to each family member: civil records, criminal records, apostilles and sworn translations.

  3. Source-of-funds file

We organise evidence of the lawful origin, ownership and traceability of the funds that will be used.

  4. Official payment channel

Funds are paid only to the account or instrument designated in the official rules. Never to intermediaries.

  5. Filing with the Agency

The application is filed with the Agencia de Programas de Ciudadanía por Inversión when the channel is open. The Agency evaluates the investment and requests security and financial reports.

  6. Decision by Migraciones

The Agency sends a reasoned report to the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones, which must decide within 30 business days of receiving it.

  7. After the decision

If approved: naturalisation certificate, national identity card (DNI), passport and tax ID (CUIT). If refused: review of the reasons and available remedies.

Argentina

A country of remarkable scale and diversity

The eighth-largest country in the world spans subtropical forests, high Andean deserts, Patagonian ice fields and cosmopolitan cities. Citizenship is a lasting legal bond with that country, with rights and duties.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the programme open for applications today?

Not yet, as of 12 October 2026. The Government announced on 2 October 2026 that the programme would be operational in the fourth quarter of 2026, but no official filing channel, opening date or implementing resolution with the amounts had been published in the Boletín Oficial at the time of our last review.

How much does it cost?

According to the official announcement, the main applicant chooses between a non-refundable contribution of USD 350,000 to the National Treasury or the subscription of a USD 800,000 government bond. Family members add USD 100,000 (spouse), USD 100,000 (each unmarried child aged 18–25 without children) and USD 25,000 (each child under 18). Government fees, due-diligence fees and professional fees are additional. See the cost calculator.

Do I need to live in Argentina before applying?

No minimum prior residence is required for the investment route: the text introduced by DNU 366/2025 allows naturalisation of foreigners who prove a relevant investment “regardless of the time of residence”. The legal challenges described in our legal framework page should be taken into account.

Is citizenship guaranteed once the investment is made?

No. The Agency evaluates the investment and requests reports from security, intelligence and financial bodies. If any of them recommends refusal, the Agency must propose rejection. The final decision is a reasoned administrative act of the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones.

How long does the process take?

There is no official total timeframe. Decree 524/2025 only sets 30 business days for Migraciones to decide after receiving the Agency’s report. The time needed to prepare documents, evaluate the investment and obtain reports is not regulated.

Can I buy any Argentine government bond?

No. The announcement refers to a public bond created specifically for the programme. Its terms have not been published. Buying other Argentine securities does not qualify.
